Perfect if you want to learn more advanced plastering skills and be equipped to work on small-scale domestic jobs, repairs and restoration or on big commercial developments.
Level 3 - Plastering
15 hours per week
You’ll learn how to apply wet finishes to surfaces and the skills needed to put protective coverings like pebble-dashing on external walls.You will also learn about screeding and fixing fibrous components.
You can look forward to the chance to take part in skills competitions at local and national level.
You will learn how to apply plaster materials to curved walls, run curved cornice and how to do complex rendering eg. pebbledash and tyrolean.
You will also develop knowledge of work with quantities and communicating with others and building methods and construction technology.
Your Study Programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.
You will need a minimum of five GCSEs at C grades or equivalent, including maths and English. Students may be able to progress from Level 2 vocationally related programmes.
You will learn through practical sessions in our workshops and assessment will be through, practical demonstrations, written work and online tests.
Additional expenses to consider include £45 approx. to cover a hard hat, safety boots and hi-vis vest.
If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials.
