What does this course involve?

This is a unique chance to develop your supervisory skills and your hospitality career by experiencing training and working opportunities in our brand new Yarrow Hotel. You will experience and supervise all aspects of the workings of the Hotel from reception to housekeeping to bar work and food service. This will give you a first class experience of the hospitality industry and the benefits of making hospitality your career choice.

Requirements

What qualifications do I need?

You will need to have passion and enthusiasim for the Hospitality industry. You will need a minimum of five GCSEs at C grades or equivalent, including maths and English. Students may be able to progress from Level 2 vocationally related programmes.

Assessment

You will learn through 3 days work experience in the Yarrow Hotel. You will be assisting with functions and undertaking different shifts within the Hotel. You will build up a portfolio of evidence and be assessed within the Hotel by trained assessors. The qualification is assessed throughout the programme with no end of year exam.

Fees & Costs

If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. For adult learners (over 19) financial support towards the costs of your Study Programme may be available. Eligible students may be able to get help with course related costs such as travel, equipment and childcare.

Opportunities

On successful completion you could gain employment within the catering and hospitality industry. Alternatively you could progress on to our Level Diploma in hospitality management.
