Level 3 - Music Technology
15 hours per week
You’ll learn how to use industry standard software to create and produce music. You’ll also learn live sound techniques, as well as learning all about the music industry, song writing and composing.
You will have the opportunity to run one of our in-house micro businesses, which will involve organising and playing a monthly gig or putting out releases on our College record label. You can look forward to working on projects that reflect the rigours of industry in our brand new Creative Industries Centre.
You will also need to demonstrate your abililty to play an instrument, perform a vocal piece or provide a portfolio of relevant experience.
This Study Programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.
You will need a minimum of five GCSEs at C grades or equivalent, including maths and English. Students may be able to progress from Level 2 vocationally related programmes.
You will learn through practical and written assessments.
If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. We offer this course as a two year Extended Diploma, equivalent to three A Levels, to further your technical learning or progress into university or other Higher Education courses.
