What does this course involve?

You will undertake professional assignments such as producing a range of location, studio, travel, street, fashion and reportage photographs. You will explore the broad use of photographic images and use industry standard kit to develop skills in areas such as specialist location and studio photography, image manipulation techniques and Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom workflow.

You will learn also learn to shoot and editing films. You can look forward to being taught by our experienced industry professionals and being put through your paces by our range of professional partners from the design and web industries.

Your Study Programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.

Requirements

What qualifications do I need?

You will need a minimum of five GCSEs at C grades or equivalent, including maths and English. Students may be able to progress from Level 1 vocationally related programmes.

Assessment

Assessment will be by building a portfolio of project work and externally examined units of study.

Fees & Costs

If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. For adult learners (over 19) financial support towards the costs of your Study Programme may be available. Eligible students may be able to get help with course related costs such as travel, equipment and childcare.

Opportunities

On successful completion you could gain employment within the creative industries or work on a freelance basis. If you choose to continue your education you could progress on to a higher education course at either college or university.
