What does this course involve?

You’ll learn how the media industries operate and how to be successful in the film, television and wider media industries such as journalism and photography.

Using our top of the range Blackmagic and Panasonic industry equipment, you will work from day one on a range of film and TV projects and learn to be creative and push the boundaries of film and media production.

You can look forward to entering your work in national and international competitions and festivals, being taught by industry professionals and having time and support to raise your aspirations and take control of your future career plans.

Your Study Programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.

Requirements

What qualifications do I need?

You will need a minimum of five GCSEs at C grades or equivalent, including maths and English. Students may be able to progress from Level 2 vocationally related programmes.

Assessment

You will learn through participation in industry focussed projects, assessment will be by submission of project work.

Fees & Costs

If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. For adult learners (over 19) financial support towards the costs of your Study Programme may be available. Eligible students may be able to get help with course related costs such as travel, equipment and childcare.

Please note: For those claiming state working age benefit this course is classed as part-time.

Opportunities

We offer this course as a two year Extended Diploma, equivalent to three A Levels, to further your technical learning or progress into university or other Higher Education courses.

On successful completion you could gain employment within the creative industry, alternatively you could choose to work in a freelance capacity. If you choose to continue your education you could progress on to a higher education course at either college or university.
