What does this course involve?

Broadstairs Campus

You’ll learn practical skills including health and safety, client care and communication, electrical face and body treatments, electrical epilation treatments, body massage using preblended aromatherapy oils and Indian head massage.

You can look forward to working in our Salon Training Academy on external clients, product training from industry experts and companies and external trips to trade fairs and exhibitions.

Students will get the opportunity to participate in local and national competitions.

Folkestone Campus

You’ll learn practical skills including health and safety, electrical face and body treatments, body massage, mechanical massage, body and skin analysis, Anatomy and physiology for the face and body systems.

You can look forward to working in the College Salon on external clients.

This Study Programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.

Requirements

What qualifications do I need?

You will need a minimum of five GCSEs at C grades or equivalent, including maths and English. You must have a Level 2 diploma in beauty therapy.

Assessment

You will learn through practical demonstrations, and assessment will be through written work, graded practical, synoptic assessment and two written exams.

Fees & Costs

Text books will need to be purchased at a cost of approx. £30.

Additional costs to consider include:

Uniform £75 (approx.)
Commodities £30 (approx.)

Education trips and further training will be available throughout the year at additional costs.

If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. For adult learners (over 19) financial support towards the costs of your Study Programme may be available. Eligible students may be able to get help with course related costs such as travel, equipment and childcare.

Opportunities

On successful completion you could progress on to an HNC in a related field or a degree at university such as Level 4 IPL and skin rejuvenation.

You will also be able to seek employment in salons, cruise ships, or become a self-employed mobile therapist.
