This course will introduce learners to commonly used office and business software, and provide them with the opportunity to develop and improve their skills.
Level 2 - IT Users
3 hours per week. Various start dates are avalaible between September and July.
The course will follow a formal specification and will allow you to gain a recognised qualification at Level 2. The course will cover a range of office applications software which will include word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software. Each topic will be taught over a “block” of classes, to help learners join the course at any time throughout the year.
It will also include exposure to a range of other skills such as video editing, project management and database creation. There will be a project which allows you to demonstrate that you can use a range of software skills effectively.
You should be an experienced users of ICT with some experience of using common software, particularly word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. This course is not suitable for beginners (please see Level 2 Award in IT).
You will undertake the BTEC Level 2 Certificate for IT Users. Assessment will be by practical exercises carried out under exam conditions at the end of each course block.

As a recognised qualification at Level 2, successful completion may allow you to progress to a Level 3 course, complete the ICT Functional Skills requirement of an apprenticeship, or help you gain employment in an office-based environment.
