Perfect if you want to learn the basic skills needed to work within the bricklaying industry.
Level 2 - Bricklaying
15 hours per week
You’ll learn how to measure out working areas and setting out the first rows of bricks, mixing mortar and applying it with a trowel, shaping and trimming bricks.
You can look forward to the chance to take part in inter-college skills competitions at local and national level.
Your Study Programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.
You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at D grades or equivalent, including maths and English. Students may be able to progress from Level 1 vocationally related programmes.
You will learn through practical sessions in our workshop environments and assessment will be through practical demonstrations, written work and online tests.
Additional expenses to consider include £45 to cover hard hat, high-visual vest and a trip.
If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials.
For adult learners (over 19) financial support towards the costs of your Study Programme may be available. Eligible students may be able to get help with course related costs such as travel, equipment and childcare.

Please note: For those claiming state working age benefit this course is classed as part-time.
On successful completion you could move on to our Level 3 Study Programme or seek employment or an Apprenticeship within the construction industry.
