You will learn the skills needed to go into a career in the customer service industry, from working in travel agents to retail environments. You will learn how to deal with customer enquiries, dealing with consumer issues, and the basics of selling and stock control.

Dover Campus

Studying at our Dover campus, the course will focus on the skills needed to work in the tourism or retail industries. With the opening of the St. James shopping complex there will be more job opportunities for those with good customer service and business skills. In addition, the course can lead on to employment in the tourism industry and you will benefit from links with local employers such as DFDS Seaways and P&O.

Folkestone Campus

Studying at our Folkestone campus, the course will focus on customer service skills within the hospitality industry. With lots of hotels, bars and restaurants in the local area, you will learn how to deliver a great experience to customers. Our Folkestone campus has its own onsite restaurant and great links with local employers such as the Hythe Imperial Hotel and Rocksalt.

All of the skills learnt can be transferred to a wide range of subject areas and businesses, and can lead on to further study, an apprenticeship or employment.

You can look forward to the chance to take part in trips and visits and the opportunity to undertake work experience opportunities within the industry.

This Study Programme has been designed in such a way that if you are not sure which vocational area you would like to study in, you will have the chance to move and sample a different area at various points in the year.
