What does this course involve?

You will learn a range of hairdressing skills, including how to: • Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp • Carry out client consultations • Cutting womens hair • Colouring and lightening hair • Following health and safety practice in the salon • Perming and neutralising hair • Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector • Promoting products and services to clients in a salon Your lessons will take place in our state-of-the-art salons and you will have the opportunity to work on clients and gain hands-on experience.


What qualifications do I need?

You will need at least 4 GCSEs at D and E (including English) or a Level 1 vocational qualification in subject area.


Assessment will be carried out by observations, written course work and end-of-unit examinations.

On successful completion, you will be able to find work in the hairdressing industry or undertake a Level 3 qualification in hairdressing.
