What does this course involve?

Broadstairs Campus

You’ll learn advanced perming, cutting and colouring techniques, as well as how to create advanced hair styles for special occasions. You will also learn the basics of salon management to help you in your future career.

You will also learn skills in promoting products and services and advanced consultation skills.

You can look forward to the opportunity to undertake work experience placements in our commercial salon or in salons in the local area.

Dover and Folkestone Campuses

You’ll learn advanced cutting and colouring techniques, as well as how to create hairstyles for special occasions. You will also learn the basics of salon management to help you in your future career.

You can look forward to working inthe College’s on-site salon on external clients.

This Study Programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.

Requirements

What qualifications do I need?

You will need a minimum of five GCSEs at C grades or equivalent, including maths and English. Students may be able to progress from Level 2 vocationally related programmes.

Assessment

You will learn through practical demonstrations, and assessment will be through written work and online tests.

If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. Opportunities
