What does this course involve?

Broadstairs Campus

You’ll learn how to conduct a thorough consultation prior to starting a service and understand how the choice of shampoos and conditioners can affect the hair and scalp.

You will also cover cutting and colouring techniques needed to create amazing hair styles.

You can look forward to working in the College’s on-site salon on external clients.

Dover Campus

Folkestone Campus

You’ll learn how to conduct a thorough consultation prior to starting a service and understand how the choice of shampoos and conditioners can affect the hair and scalp.

This Study Programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.

Requirements

What qualifications do I need?

You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at D grades or equivalent, including maths and English. Students may be able to progress from Level 1 vocationally related programmes.

Assessment

You will learn through practical demonstrations, and assessment will be through written work and online tests.

If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. For adult learners (over 19) financial support towards the costs of your Study Programme may be available. Eligible students may be able to get help with course related costs such as travel, equipment and childcare.
