What does this course involve?

You’ll learn through a one day a week work readiness Study Programme and up to four days in a chosen work placement with a Personal Support Practitioner (PSP). You will have the opportunity to learn key employability skills in the following industry: office work, health and social care, catering and hospitality, retail , leisure services, horticulture and more.

You will also study work-ready skills, interview techniques, communication skills and team building. You can look forward to growing in confidence, building your self-esteem and developing your existing skills and learning new ones – while gaining valuable work experience. There is an opportunity to work towards GCSE in maths and English.


What qualifications do I need?

You will need to go through an interview process which takes place within the College. You will need to have achieved a minimum of Entry Level 2 in English and maths for this Level 1 programme.


You will build up a portfolio of evidence which will include key employability units and practical evidence in the workplace.

Fees & Costs

The Study Programme will be fully funded for any young person aged 16-24 with an Educational Health care plan.

Further fees may be required for Travel, trips and other learning materials as part of the Study programme.

On successful completion of the programme you could progress into paid employment, Apprenticeships, Traineeships, volunteering with accredited training or further studies at Level 2.
