What does this course involve?

Candidates gain the Business and Administration Apprenticeship Level 2 framework qualification by completing and achieving:

Competency Qualification: NVQ Certificate in Business and Administration (QCF) Level 2 - Work-based evidence portfolio.

Technical Certificate: Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration (QCF)

Level 2: Incorporating Employment rights and responsibilities.

Maths, English and ICT: Fulfilled by completion of Maths, English and ICT at Level 1.

PLTS: Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.

All qualification elements must be achieved to complete the Apprenticeship framework.

There are a number of mandatory units concentrating on working in a business environment to be completed. Apprentices will be required to complete a number of optional units linked to specific skills requirements.

There is an expectation that Apprentices will undertake personal study in order to demonstrate knowledge of the subject area, and compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their competence.


What qualifications do I need?

Apprentices should be employed within an appropriate business environment. They will be invited to attend a short informal interview prior to the course commencing and to undertake an initial assessment to demonstrate the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy required. Apprentices will be allocated a personal tutor for guidance throughout the duration of the course.


The process of assessment requires the demonstration of skills together with appropriate knowledge and understanding to a specified standard. Assessment of the NVQ is based on a combination of observation, questioning and collection of evidence from the workplace.

Fees & Costs

This course is fully funded if the apprentice is aged under 19. If the apprentice is 19-23 then a £500 employer contribution is required. If the apprentice is 24+ please contact us for further information.
