What does this course involve?

Candidates gain the Bench Joinery Apprenticeship Level 2 framework qualification by completing and achieving: NVQ2: Site based evidence portfolio.

Technical Certificate: College-based course covering trade knowledge: exam and practical assessments. Literacy and Numeracy: Fulfilled by completion of Maths and English at an appropriate level. ERR - Employment rights and responsibilities PLTS - Personal learning and thinking skills All qualification elements must be achieved to complete the Apprenticeship Framework.

There are a number of mandatory units concentrating on health and safety in the workplace to be completed. Requirements

What qualifications do I need?

Apprentices should be employed within an appropriate construction environment. Apprentices will be invited to attend a short informal interview prior to the course commencing and to undertake an initial assessment to demonstrate the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy required. Apprentices will be allocated a personal tutor for guidance throughout the duration of the course.

Assessment

The process of assessment requires the demonstration of skills together with appropriate knowledge and understanding to a specified standard. Assessment of the NVQ is based on a combination of observation, questioning and collection of evidence from the workplace.

Fees & Costs

This course is fully funded if the learner is aged under 19. If the learner is 19+ then a £500 employer contribution is required.
